Maria Alexandra Pinto #PajaraPintaBirds
Tell us a bit of yourself / How did you get into wellness?
I'm Mapi, and aside from being a fashion consultant, I'm also a Pilates and Mindful Movement Instructor. I got into wellness thanks to my curiosity about mental health and how to achieve a healthier brain. Back in 2018, when I moved to NY for work, I started experiencing a lot of anxiety and high levels of stress. Meditation and mindful movement were the only two things that helped me calm all those racing thoughts.
Favorite Book or Podcast?
My favorite book is "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle. Favorite podcast: Mind Body Green.
Three Good Habits that you recommend to have more self love?
Lots of journaling, avoid caffeine first thing in the morning, and go for that low impact workout.
Do you have one quick exercise that helps you go through a difficult day or situation?
Yes, Breathwork! Breathwork is a zero-cost, highly effective tool that I have ever been able to use. It clears the mind, helps oxygen reach all parts of your body, and enables a deep connection with your body. I started practicing breathwork two years ago, and I have seen an enormous change in my mood and perception since integrating it into my daily wellness routine.
If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Really, nothing more than just keep living life as you live it. We only regret what we don't do, and every mistake becomes a lesson if we want to improve as human beings.
What does #ShiningFromWithin mean to you?
Shining from within means to me taking care of yourself so much that you are able to share a piece of your light with the rest of the world because you flow with harmony and creativity.
Favorite Pájara Pinta Piece and Why?
The Manifesto t-shirt, because what's written on it about love is not only true but universal. When we choose love over fear, we choose to become closer to ourselves and everything around us in this world. Love is always the answer.
